The Lifeguards Members

David Mantle
David is a retired miner, and is married, with two sons. He joined the group way back in 1979 and has been a stalwart member ever since. He has formerly sung in youth and chapel choirs and has been a regular member of The Dowlais Male choir since 1978. One of his main hobbies is bowls, and he was selected to represent his county in 1985.
Len Hargreaves
Len is a Founder Member of The Lifeguards, and is Chairman of the Group. Has sung in school and church choirs, and in four Male Voice Choirs. A retired Sales Engineer, Len is a local councillor. He enjoys rugby, soccer and golf.
Ken Morris
Ken is Secretary of The Lifeguards, and also in charge of music. He has been with the group since 1992.
Colin Williams
Colin has been with the Lifeguards since 1996. He is in charge of uniform.
Mike Kerrigan
Mike has been with the group since 1993. He is known as "Scouse" by his friends, so you can guess that he hails originally from Liverpool. He is an engineer for a telecommunications company.

Mike Edwards
Mike, a retired teacher/lecturer, joined The Lifeguards in 1998. He has sung in choirs ever since his school days, and is presently also a member of Côr Meibion Dowlais, but this is the first time he has sung with such a small group. He is the Treasurer of the Group, and also looks after this website. You can find out more about him by clicking here.
Cyril Thomas
Cyril joined the group in 1998, and is the newest member of The Lifeguards. Cyril is a retired teacher and a Lay Preacher.
