The D. T. Davies Award

In July 1978 the committee of the Dowlais Male Choir decided to honour their founder musical director Mr D.T.Davies by instigating a bursary in his memory. The aim of the D.T.Davies Award is for the encouragement of young musicians, and a bursary of £25 is to be given each year to a pupil studying at a one of high schools in the borough of Merthyr Tydfil. The winner of the award will be asked to perform at the choir’s annual Saint David’s Day Concert.
